Squash Hunger: Year in Review

The Squash Hunger Program had a fantastic 2017, thanks to our amazing volunteers, donors and partners. We were able to collect and distribute more than 74,000 pounds of fresh produce — that’s the weight of a full-sized fire truck! All of the produce from the Squash Hunger program supplied our region’s food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters, many of which feed than 100 people three meals a day, every day. One hundred volunteers helped with these deliveries and with farm field gleanings. We are so fortunate to work with more than 30 farms, wholesalers, retail sites and farmers markets to ensure top quality fresh produce gets to emergency food providers and their clients.
